The Zero Prequel

Many game franchises include prequels that add the number “0” or word “zero” to the end of the game’s title in order to establish that its canon took place before the original game in the series. Examples of this are Resident Evil 0, Perfect Dark Zero, and Earthbound 0 (a fan name given to the game released as “Mother” in Japan). ‘Origins’ is another such common subtitle for prequels that tend to go ‘before the beginning’ as well.
