The New Orleans Pelicans are a professional basketball team that competes in the NBA. The Pelicans, then known as the Hornets, played in Charlotte from 1988 to 2002 before moving to New Orleans. Due to hurricane Katrina, the team played most of their home games in Oklahoma City for the ’05-’06 and ’06-’07 seasons.
